The F-100 Super Sabre

"The Hun" by Mark Karvon

The F-100 Super Sabre was the world's first airplane capable of exceeding the speed of sound in level flight. Known as "TheThe Hun by Mark Karvon Hun" due to the F-100 designation, the Super Sabre was the first of the "Century" series of fighters. The aircraft was used extensively during the Vietnam War primarily in the ground attack and forward air control roles. The Super Sabre was eventually phased out of service in Vietnam, replaced by the F-105 Thunderchief and the F-4 Phantom II but they continued in service with Air National Guard units throughout the United States until 1980.  In this realistic portrayal, artist Mark Karvon shows 2 "Yellow Jackets" of the 35th TFS, 352TFW, cruising low and slow over Vietnamese jungle terrain.  Click on the thumbnail to see a larger version of the print, then click your browser's BACK button to return here and place your order!
