Return to the Coast Guard Page
The works in the Coast Guard Art Program pictorially represent the history, missions, heroes and deeds of those who have served, and continue to serve our nation in this Service, from its early beginnings to the present day. The professional volunteer artists who donate their time and efforts to COGAP have portrayed the men and women of the Coast Guard in the performance of their daily missions. These inspiring works recount examples of duties such as homeland security, law enforcement, drug interdiction, search and rescue, marine environmental protection, aids to navigation, military readiness, and others. The 1,800 plus works in the collection help to educate diverse groups about the importance of the Coast Guard. The original works are on display in museums, libraries, at patriotic events, in the offices of Members of Congress and senior Executive Branch officials, and Coast Guard locations throughout the country. COGAP is in the process of digitizing the works in their collection. As these images become available, we are able to provide them to our visitors for display in their own homes and offices. We produce our COGAP works as high quality giclee prints on our heavy-weight archival matte stock. The lightfastness of these prints is guaranteed for 100+ years. They will soon be available on canvas, also. There are currently over 250 Coast Guard Art prints available, with more being added every month. In keeping with our practice of making it easy to find your subject matter, we will be listing them in a number of ways. Start your tour with the navigation buttons on the left. You can search by artist or by subject matter. Enjoy your tour. We're confident you will find an image that stirs the memory or brings a sea story or two! Our agreement with the Coast Guard Art Program, requires that we present the images in their entirety, without alteration. The result of this presentation is that the images will not match up exactly with standard commercially available frames and mats. We have selected the 4 print sizes, though, so that standard frame sizes can be used with custom-cut mats. The sizes listed for each print are actual image sizes. There will be a border of approximately one inch per side around each print. Another option, of course, is to purchase them from us all ready framed! Because of our volume of work, we can offer matted and framed prints at especially good prices. We use all archival materials in our framing work, other than the acrylic glazing material. Unfortunately, we are just not able to successfully ship items with glass.
