Each four US Navy fleets has its own command ship. Both
the Second Fleet in the Atlantic and the Seventh Fleet in the Western Pacific
are served by Blue Ridge Class amphibious command ships. The flagship of
the Commander, Third Fleet, in the Eastern Pacific is a Converted Austin Class
amphibious transport dock. The Commander of the Sixth Fleet in the
Mediterranean is served by a Converted Raleigh Class amphibious transport dock.
