Enterprise Strike Group Drawing

Carrier Strike Group 12, Med 07 Deployment

In July of 2007, USS Enterprise CVN 65 deployed from Norfolk, VA.  She is expected to return in December after six months projecting US Naval Power around the world.  The Strike Group is made up of USS Enterprise, guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg CG 64, guided missile destroyers USS Arleigh Burke DDG 51, USS Stout DDG 55. USS James E. Williams, USS Forrest Sherman DDG 98, command elements of Destroyer Squadron 2, the fast attack submarine USS Philadelphia SSN 690, and combat supply ship USNS Supply T AOE 6.

Embarked in USS Enterprise is the air component of the Strike Group, Carrier Air Wing 1.  CVW 1 consists of fighter attack squadrons VFA-86 Sidewinders, VFA-136 Knighthawks, VFA-211 Fighting Checkmates, VMFA-251 Thunderbolts, early warning squadron VAW-123 Screwtops, electronic attack squadron VAQ-137 Rooks, helicopter antisubmarine squadron HS-11 Dragonslayers, and the fleet logistic support squadron VRC-40 (Det 2) Rawhides.

Each ship and squadron is represented on the drawing by its unit insignia.
