An F/A-18 Hornet returns home to the USS George Washington.  Among pilots, a carrier landing--even in the best of conditions--is called a "controlled crash."  With the sun setting and broken clouds, Bill Phillips depicts a Hornet that just wants to get back to the nest, and hopefully grab the #3 arresting wire.
