Famous (Bear) Class Medium Endurance Cutter Profile Drawings by
George Bieda
There are 13 270 ft. Famous (or Bear) Class Medium Endurance
Cutters operating along the East Coast of the United States from Maine to Key
West. These cutters were built between 1983 and 1991. There have not
been many external changes to these ships during there lives, though their
electronic, communications, and navigational systems have been upgraded.
We offer profile drawings of all 13 of these ships. Pictured below are the
first and last members of the class

Diver Class Medium
Endurance Cutter Profile Drawings by George Bieda
The Diver Class of
Medium Endurance Cutters is made up of US Navy Diver Class rescue and salvage
ships that were transferred to the Coast Guard at various times. Two of
the 3 ships have been decommissioned, but the USCGC Acushnet WMEC 167, that
operates almost exclusively in Alaskan waters, is currently the oldest cutter
still in service, and is designated "Queen of the Fleet." These ships were
commissioned by the Navy in the 1940's, and have served honorably in one
capacity or another for 50+ years. Our profile artist can configure the
ships for any time frame, so be sure to provide that information when ordering.
