here on the left is the USCGC Bluefin (WPB-87318). These boxy coastal
patrol boats are more generally referred to as CPB (coastal patrol boat) rather than WPB. Though
officially dubbed the Barracuda Class, the 87-FT boats are also referred to as the Marine

here on the left is the USCGC Point Martin (WPB-82379), one of the Point Class
82-FT patrol boats. These boats began entering CG service in 1960, and
some remained until as late as 1998. A number of these boats became part
of CG Division One, and served in Vietnam. An example of this is the USCGC Point Jefferson
(WPB-82306), pictured on the right. Used primarily for port security and Search And
Rescue
(SAR), and law enforcement, these cutters have been replaced by the 87-FT CPBs (see the Barracuda Class
