Acclaimed Naval Artist George Bieda has
done profiles for literally hundreds of the retired diesel boats. We only
have website images for a few, but the available prints are all listed under the
respective ship class. Each profile drawing is complete with ship's patch,
builder's plaque, dolphin pins, commissioning pennant, and ship's statistics, like
the images of the USS Pickerel and USS Growler that you'll find below. When ordering, don't forget to select your specific
ship, print size, and framing options!
We also offer a terrific work featuring
the USS Wahoo in action. Scroll down to the Gato Class boats
for a view.

Gato Class Attack Submarines
"Remember the Wahoo" by Mark Karvon
As a tribute to the 80 officers and men of USS Wahoo SS
238 who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country on 11 OCT 1943,
MarK Karvon offers this work. USS Wahoo, under the con of her
second captain, Dudley "Mush" Morton became famous for her successes
against Japanese shipping and naval vessels. The exact whereabouts of
WAHOO remained a mystery until 2006, when she was found in the La Perouse
Strait off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan, lying in about 210 feet of water.
She remains there today, "on eternal patrol." This realistic portrayal of
this Gato Class diesel boat is offered in two sizes, signed by the artist.
Prints are produced by high quality giclee printers on heavy-weight, acid-free
archival stock.
