The Sikorsky UH 60 Black Hawk

In the late 1970s, the U.S. Army held a competition to replace the aging UH-1 family of medium lift utility and assault helicopters.  Both Sikorsky and Boeing-Vetrol participated, developing  designs based on the Army's specifications.  The winner was the Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk.  This aircraft can perform a wide array of missions, including tactical troop transport, electronic warfare, and medical evacuations.  Variants of this design are in use by the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
