"Rock & Roll Baby" by Mark Karvon, featuring the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank

The M1 Abrams entered service in 1980 and currently serves as the main battle tank of the United States Army and Marine Corps. The M1 Abrams is considered by many to be the best tank in the world today. It's 120mm gun makes it lethal while it's composite armor keeps the crew very well protected. The M1 is powered by a 1500 HP gas turbine engine which makes the Abrams one of the fastest tanks. The M1 Abrams has proven itself in battle during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The export version is used by the armies of Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Iraq. The MiA1s had several upgrades over the original M1 Abrams, which included the M256 Smoothbore cannon developed in Germany for the Leopard 2 tank.  Roughly 440 of the M1A1 Abrams variants were built for the US Marine Corps between 1986 and 1992.

The Abrams was first used in combat in the Persian Gulf War and has seen combat in both the War in Afghanistan and Iraq War under U.S. service.

In "Rock & Roll Baby," Mark depicts an M1A1 Abrams charging through the Iragi desert during Operation Desert Storm with a pair of AH-64 Apaches providing air support.
